BBL Broadband Light

BBL (BroadBand Light) is an innovative light-based technology for treating skin conditions associated with aging, active life-styles and sun damage. Light energy delivered by the BBL stimulates your skin cells to regenerate and restore your skin’s youthful  appearance; correct pigment and vascular conditions as well as improve tone and texture.

What does BBL Treat?
BBL treats:

  • Sun damage

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • “Broken blood vessels” (superficial capillaries)

  • Rosacea

  • Enlarged pores

  • Uneven or rough skin texture

  • Mild skin laxity

  • Pigmentation issues, such as age spots

  • Scarring

  • Acne

Treatments are personalized for your skin to precisely treat common skin complaints and age-related skin defects. The BBL photo-therapy is noninvasive so you can receive comfortable and effective treatments to fit your schedule, even on a lunch break.

How does BBL work?

BBL sends pulses of light energy into the upper layers of skin. Within the skin, the light energy is absorbed by pigmented targets which can treat fine superficial capillaries “broken blood vessels”, flushing redness as well as brown spots or pigmented lesions caused by an overproduction of melanin. This scientific and biological process destroys the target, eliminating it from the skin and restoring it to its natural beauty, blending its natural tones, making it more vibrant and youthful in appearance and touch.

Redness – BBL reduces redness in general.  This is a condition is a result of dilated capillaries or micro vessels.  Factors such as sun exposure, aging, trauma and other factors can cause capillaries to become dilated.

Builds Collagen and Reduces Wrinkles – Aging, sun damage from ultraviolet (UV) light, smoking, stress, excessive alcohol intake, an unhealthy diet and lifestyle all destroy collagen and elastin in the dermis and can cause the skin to loosen and sag. The heating of the vessel will induce an inflammatory response that causing the release of mediators that stimulate fibroblast activity and new collagen production resulting in a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles.

Treats Acne – BBL can treat active acne and helps shorten the length of outbreaks.

Forever Young BBL
What Is Forever Young BBL?

Forever Young BBL is an anti-aging treatment that specifically targets a patient’s skin concerns, particularly fine lines, sagging skin, and wrinkles. The Forever Young BBL treatment is the only treatment that has been shown to change the expression of genes associated with aging, particularly when it comes to increased lifespan and longevity.

With this treatment, your skin will look younger, clearer, and healthier. It’s great for sun damaged skin, and since the technology can be customized to each skin type, almost anyone can be a candidate for the treatment with the exception of darker pigmented skin tones such as Type 6 skintype. It can be used on most parts of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.

Natural Blonde Woman

The Forever Young treatment protocol is like receiving three treatments in one. Going deep with your skin, it addresses the visible signs of aging such as pigmentation and redness but also tone and textural changes associated with aging. Patients love their results after one treatment, but for truly lasting results, Forever Young BBL should be incorporated into an ongoing treatment regimen. In addition to repairing damaged skin, the Forever Young BBL treatment is great for age spots, fine lines, rosacea, acne, and for overall skin health. Turn back the clock on the appearance of aging skin.

The Process

The Forever Young BBL process uses intense, infrared pulsed light to produce younger looking skin. On the molecular level, this technology works both on the top layer of the skin as well on the lower layers to help revitalize old skin cells.

Is It Painful?

Compared to other laser treatments, the BBL treatment is well tolerated and is considered minimally uncomfortable. There’s no need for topical anesthetics, and most people feel nothing more than a ‘rubber band snap’ sensation in some areas.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Treatments vary. Most take around 15 mins to 1 hour depending on how many areas you decide to treat.

When Will I See Results?

After your treatment, you can expect to see results in as little as one week, but your skin will continue to improve over the course of many months. Upon receiving a consultation in office, at treatment plan will be structured based on your skin type and goals.

Are There Any Side Effects?

The side effects after a treatment are typically minimal. After a treatment, patients will typically leave with a mild-moderate red appearance which usually clears up in a few hours. Pigmented spots may darken and peel over time, which is typically within 1 to 2 weeks.

What’s the Difference between Forever Young BBL and other IPL treatments?

Forever Young BBL is the only device that has been shown to change the expression of genes associated with aging, longevity, and increased lifespan. With regular Forever Young BBL treatments, patients’ skin looks clear, smooth, and much younger.

Unlike many lasers and light-based treatments, BBL addresses the underlying layers of your skin where much of the aging occurs. Also unlike many laser treatments, it has almost no downtime.

How often should I get a Forever Young BBL?

We recommend 3-4 Forever Young BBL’s a year for maintaining the skin’s even skin tone as well as preventing the skin from aging further.

What is the difference between Corrective BBL and Forever Young BBL?

This can be confusing.  Both are BroadBand Light by Sciton and they both provide photorejuvenation benefits by using light to target chromophore.  In fact in many offices, if they have BBL, do not differentiate between the Corrective and the Forever Young procedures.  But there is a difference, and it is an important difference.  Corrective BBL uses a high amount of energy with less passes, while Forever Young BBL uses multiple passes at a lower energy.

What Can I Expect After Forever Young Broadband Light?

For the first few hours after the procedure, you may experience some redness at the site. You shouldn’t expect this to last any longer than 48 hours. If you were treated for dark spots, don’t be concerned if the areas appear darker. This typically occurs prior to the skin lightening and eventually flakes off completely. The end result is skin that both looks and feels younger. Depending on the severity of your problem, subsequent treatment may be necessary to achieve the best results.

What are the Risks of Forever Young Broadband Light?

The risks involved with this treatment are minimal, and your clinician will discuss any potential individual concerns prior to treatment. After treatment, however, direct exposure to the sun should be completely avoided until the skin is healed. During this time, you should broadly cover your skin in sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 prior to any exposure to the sun. To avoid effects such as blisters caused by blood being drawn to the skin for the first 24 hours after the procedure, avoid: Exercise, Excessive heat, Alcohol use
